What is the Training Institute?

The ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County operates a Training Institute that provides quality, affordable training to the behavioral health workforce, clients, family members and the public. The Training Institute is an approved provider through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board and the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Board offering Recognized Clock Hours (RCH) to Chemical Dependency Professionals as well as Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to Counselors and Social Workers.  

Fees for the ADAMHS Board Training Institute workshops are $25 per half-day (2-4 hour) session and $45 for a full-day (5+ hour) session. Occasionally, workshops will be offered free on an as-needed basis per topic. Workshop fees are non-refundable.

Workshop Description: Clinical Excellence with ASAM: Mastering the Dimensions & Continuum of Care

This 8-hour training is designed to equip clinicians with a deep understanding of the American Society for Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria, focusing on the six dimensions and sub-dimensions critical for effective addiction assessment, treatment planning, and placement.

Participants will explore the ASAM continuum of care, learning to match the appropriate level of service based on the severity and biopsychosocial needs of their clients. The workshop will also cover continuous assessment techniques, motivational strategies, and interventions that clinicians can integrate seamlessly into their daily practice, ensuring high-quality, personalized care for individuals with substance use disorders.
