This workshop introduces social workers to the emerging specialty of Veterinary Social Work (VSW) and its relevance across diverse practice settings. Participants will explore core VSW concepts—including the animal assisted interventions, animal-related grief, compassion fatigue, and the link between human and animal violence—while examining the essential roles pets play in the emotional, psychological, and social lives of clients.
