What is the Training Institute?

The ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County operates a Training Institute that provides quality, affordable training to the behavioral health workforce, clients, family members and the public. The Training Institute is an approved provider through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board and the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Board offering Recognized Clock Hours (RCH) to Chemical Dependency Professionals as well as Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to Counselors and Social Workers.  

Fees for the ADAMHS Board Training Institute workshops are $25 per half-day (2-4 hour) session and $45 for a full-day (5+ hour) session. Occasionally, workshops will be offered free on an as-needed basis per topic. Workshop fees are non-refundable.

Crisis Management and De-escalation

Free CEUs/RCHs Available

  • Date: 03/12/2026 9:00 AM - 12:15 PM  
  • Introduction: Understand the basic foundation of Crisis Management & De-escalation. How crisis develops, the brain in crisis and how to support someone.

Crisis Management and De-escalation will teach participants how to support someone who is experiencing a crisis. We will start with a foundational understanding of how a crisis develops, the brain in crisis, and discuss the threats and opportunities of crisis. We will also focus on the mental preparation skills that can lead to effective intervention under stress.
