What is the Training Institute?

The ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County operates a Training Institute that provides quality, affordable training to the behavioral health workforce, clients, family members and the public. The Training Institute is an approved provider through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board and the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Board offering Recognized Clock Hours (RCH) to Chemical Dependency Professionals as well as Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to Counselors and Social Workers.

Fees for the ADAMHS Board Training Institute workshops are $25 per half-day (2-4 hour) session and $45 for a full-day (5+ hour) session. Occasionally, workshops will be offered free on an as-needed basis per topic. Workshop fees are non-refundable.

The QPR training will be presented online Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 10:00a-12:00p.

If a friend, co-worker, or family member is showing signs of suicide, do you know what to do or say? Everyone has a role to play in suicide prevention. We must increase prevention efforts to provide support and instill hope for those at risk of suicide.

The ADAMHS Board offers FREE QPR – Question, Persuade, Refer training throughout the year. QPR is an Evidence-Based Practice Model that teaches three simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. The training will raise awareness about suicide, dispel myths and misconceptions, and teach warning signs of suicide followed by QPR Gatekeeper intervention.

How do I register for a training?
Eventbrite is used to process all registrations, and payment must be made by credit card. Invoices may be sent to organizations. All workshop participants must be registered and confirmed in advance through Eventbrite. An order confirmation and entrance ticket to the workshop will be emailed through Eventbrite immediately after the registration process is complete. If you can’t find your ticket, check the junk folder in your email! Walk-ups and cash payments will not be accepted.
Where are trainings held?
All workshops are held in the Training Institute, located in the ADAMHS Board offices on the 6th Floor of the United Bank Building, 2012 West 25 th Street. Free parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. All visitors must check-in at the blue Parking Attendant Booth located in the lot directly behind the building on West 26th Street. Visitors are to inform the attendant that they are visiting the ADAMHS Board and will be directed to available parking spaces or may receive complimentary valet parking. Please bring the ticket provided to you from the attendant to the ADAMHS Board receptionist for validation. Free and metered parking are also available on the street.

Please arrive on time for all scheduled workshops. If you arrive late to a workshop you will not receive a certificate. Partial credit will not be given. In order to receive a certificate of completion, you must be present for the entire workshop.

If you are unable to attend a training that you have purchased, please cancel at least 3 days prior to the training. You can use your payment towards another training within the same term of the cancellation. In the instance the ADAMHS Board cancels a training, you can use your payment towards another training. To cancel a training, please contact Regina Spicer, LSW, LICDC-CS, Training Officer.
