ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County Releases 2025 "Coping with the Holidays" Booklet
Publication offers valuable tips and local resources to help individuals combat stress, anxiety and grief during the holiday season
Cuyahoga County, OH – The ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County, in partnership with the Cuyahoga County Suicide Prevention Coalition, today released its 2025 “Coping with the Holidays” booklet, an annual publication designed to provide practical strategies and local mental health resources for individuals and families navigating the holiday season.

According to a 2025 poll from the American Psychiatric Association, 41 percent of Americans reported an increase in holiday stress related to grief, family dynamics and financial strain, among other concerns. When asked how the holidays generally affect their mental health, 44 percent say it has positive impacts, while 21 percent say the holidays have negative impacts.
“As the holidays approach, one of our goals is to ensure that Cuyahoga County residents have access to the mental health, addiction treatment and recovery services they need to stay well,” said ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County Chief Executive Officer Jason Joyce. “Whether someone is coping with loss, managing seasonal stress or supporting a loved one, this guide offers practical information anyone can use this time of year.”
The 2025 booklet features an updated visual design and also includes tips for celebrating on a budget, kids games, finding low-cost or free activities and managing expectations around gift giving and gatherings. 
In addition, the booklet lists resource numbers for anyone who may find the pressures of the holidays too difficult to manage alone.

The ADAMHS Board encourages residents, community organizations, schools, faith communities and health providers to share the guide widely.
