The mission of the DBH is to provide statewide leadership of a high-quality mental health and addiction prevention, treatment and recovery system that is effective and valued by all Ohioans.

The DBH provides a wide variety of resources, including rules, regulations, certifications and trainings. Below are some useful resources.

DBH Hospital Services

The DBH operates regional psychiatric hospitals in six locations across the state. These specialized facilities provide short-term, intensive treatment to patients in both inpatient and community-supported environments. State hospitals also deliver comprehensive care to patients committed by criminal court. Learn more about Forensic Services.
